A celebration of chemistry

Quorn Library is very excited to be offering chemistry workshops for primary school children in November, this is supported by a grant from the Royal Society of Chemistry to celebrate Chemistry Week, the theme is: 

Chemistry is shaping the future 

The 3Rs – Reuse, Recycle and Reduce 

During November there will be chemistry workshops with lots of hands-on experiments: – 

There will be four repeat workshops in the village hall on Saturday 2nd November and Saturday 9th November at the following times:

13.30 to 14.30 

15.00 to 16.00 

Session must be pre booked. Each child must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop. 

To book just pop into the library and sign up for a workshop.  

Summer Reading Challenge

The Summer Reading Challenge has begun at Quorn Community Library. Please come into the library to find out all about the challenge which is all about reading for fun over the summer.

There are lots of activities including puzzles, a treasure hunt and origami.

Every child who completes the challenge will be entered into a raffle. Prizes include

  • Family ticket to Stonehurst farm, this has been very kindly donated by Stonehurst farm.
  • A book voucher

Reading group
