British Science Week

Quorn Community Library is celebrating British Science Week in a number of different ways:

  • Book Display of Science Books
  • Free Chemistry Workshops- please book at the desk
  • Treasure hunt about careers for chemists
  • A competition titled “My Favourite Experiment”

This will all take place between 6th to 13th March

A Celebration of British Science Week

Quorn Community Library is also very excited to be offering free chemistry workshops for primary school children in March, this is supported by a grant from the Royal Society of Chemistry.

The theme is:

Curiosity – What happens next?

There will be chemistry workshops with lots of hands-on experiments: –

Friday March 6th and Friday March 13th

In the Main Hall, The Old School, School Lane Quorn How: Session must be pre booked. Each child must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop.

To book just pop into the library and ask at the desk to sign up for a workshop.

Leicestershire SEND

Come along to a session about supporting your child to enjoy books at Quorn Library on Monday 2nd February 2025 at 13:15pm

The session will be 20 to 30 minutes long and will include:

  • Story session
  • Top tips on how to interest your child in books
  • How to make books and stories fun
  • Using story sacks
  • Building stories and books into everyday life

The session will be run by staff from the Early Years, Inclusion and Childcare Service. There will be an opportunity to ask staff any questions you have both during and after the session.
